Terms & Conditions

1. Services

The Thinking Dog provides dog training and behaviour consultations tailored to each individual dog and owner. All advice and training plans are based on professional knowledge, experience, and information provided by the owner.

2. Owner Responsibility

Owners must provide accurate and honest information about their dog’s behaviour, history, and any known risks.

You remain responsible for your dog at all times, including during sessions. This includes ensuring your dog, and others around them, are kept safe.

3. Training Approach

The Thinking Dog uses ethical, force-free, and welfare-focused methods. Owners agree to follow guidance provided during sessions to achieve the best outcomes.

Results cannot be guaranteed, as progress depends on consistency, environment, and the individual dog.

4. Payments

Full payment  is required at the end of each session for on-to-one services and at time of booking for classes and workshops unless otherwise agreed.

All payments are non-refundable except where stated in the cancellation policy.

5. Cancellations & Rescheduling

At least 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a session.

Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged in full.

Missed appointments without notice are non-refundable.

In exceptional circumstances, discretion may be applied.

6. Health & Safety

Owners must ensure their dog is fit and healthy for training, up to date with vaccinations where appropriate, and not posing an undisclosed risk to people or other animals.

The Thinking Dog reserves the right to stop a session if safety is compromised.

7. Bite Risk & Aggressive Behaviour

Owners must disclose any history of biting, snapping, lunging, or aggressive behaviour towards people or other animals prior to booking.

Dogs with a known bite history may be required to wear a muzzle and/or be managed using appropriate safety equipment during sessions.

Failure to disclose bite history or known risks may result in immediate termination of the session without refund.

The Thinking Dog accepts no liability for any injury, loss, or damage caused by a dog with a known or undisclosed bite risk.

8. Liability

While all reasonable care is taken, The Thinking Dog accepts no liability for injury, loss, or damage caused by a dog during or after training.

Behaviour outcomes are dependent on owner consistency and cannot be guaranteed.

9. Children

Children must be supervised at all times during sessions. Responsibility for children remains with the parent or guardian.

10. Equipment & Environment

Owners may be advised to use specific equipment or management strategies. It is the owner’s responsibility to use these correctly and safely.

11. Follow-Up Support

Any follow-up support provided is intended to support training but does not replace additional sessions where needed.
